EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY TO ENHANCE SERVICE DELIVERY – KAKAMEGA GOVERNOR

Kakamega County Governor H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa has directed County Government staff to utilize technology so as to boost the efficiency of County operations.

The Governor said this today, Monday 12th December 2022, during this year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations held at Bukhungu International Stadium, Kakamega.

In conformity with the event’s theme: _”Connect, Innovate and Inspire”_ Governor Barasa said delivery of his six point agenda will be fast-tracked if technology is put to use especially in collection of Own Source Revenue.

“Moving forward, we must embrace the Internet of Things which has opened up new horizons; all County transactions have to be done on-line going forward,” the Governor asserted in an overtly delivered address to the County.

Governor Barasa promised to support youth, women and people with disabilities to be engaged in micro-entrepreneurship through provision of affordable credit to boost their businesses.

FCPA Barasa further announced that the County has organized the inaugural Governor’s Football Bonanza that will kick off towards end of this month, with the finals being staged on 1st January 2023 at Mumias Sports Complex in Mumias West Sub-County.

“The CECM for Social Services, Sports, Youth, Gender and Culture should therefore with immediate effect ensure proper coordination of the participants and other key stakeholders to guarantee a successful event,” the County CEO directed.

The colourful event was also attended by Kakamega County Commissioner Mr. John Ondego who delivered President William Samoei Ruto’s National speech to the residents, First Lady Prof. Janet Kassily Barasa, Deputy Governor H.E. Ayub Savula with his spouse Mama Helen Savula among other Senior officers from both levels of Government.
