GOVERNOR BARASA APPOINTS MATUNDA MUNICIPALITY BOARD MEMBERS

Pursuant to the provisions of the Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011, H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, OGW., has appointed four members to the Board of Matunda Municipality for a period of five years.

The appointed members are Mr. Jairus Onzere, Mr. Eannes Meshack Kaibe, Ms. Edith Shanyisia Mwandi, and Mr. Dickson Jumba.

The Governor said the appointees bring on board vast expertise, experience, and leadership that will help steer the growth and transformation of Matunda Municipality, one of the three newly established municipalities in Kakamega County.

He noted that the Board will play a critical role in guiding urban planning, infrastructural development, service delivery, and sustainable growth within the municipality as the county government continues to strengthen urban governance and improve the living standards of residents.

Governor Barasa congratulated the officers and wished them success as they undertake the important responsibility of serving the people of Kakamega County.
