GOVERNOR BARASA BACKS BODA BODA RIDERS THROUGH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMMES.

H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, OGW., has said the County Government will continue supporting the boda boda sector, noting that it plays an important role in creating jobs, improving transport services, and supporting trade across Kakamega County. The sector remains a source of income for thousands of families and contributes significantly to the local economy.

The Governor said his administration is supporting boda boda riders through the improvement of road infrastructure, construction of boda boda sheds, grants to organized rider groups, and programmes that provide additional income opportunities, especially through saccos, agriculture and other wealth creation initiatives.

Speaking today during the Likuyani Boda Boda Empowerment Programme held at Kongoni Primary School Grounds in Likuyani Constituency, where he joined fellow leaders among them the host Hon. Innocent Mugabe and the President’s Aide, Farouk Kibet, Governor Barasa said his administration will continue working with leaders at both the national and county levels to support programmes that improve livelihoods and create more economic opportunities for the people of Kakamega County.
