GOVERNOR BARASA CHAIRS DEVOLUTION SUPPORT PROGRAMME QUARTERLY MEETING

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has chaired the Kakamega County Kenya Devolution Support Programme (KDSP) II quarterly meeting at the County Headquarters.

The meeting reviewed the implementation status of programmes being undertaken by the County Government in partnership with the World Bank, as well as measures to strengthen service delivery and institutional capacity.

The committee approved the construction of a Sh56 million Alcohol and Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Centre in Mumias West Constituency, aimed at strengthening the county’s response to alcohol and substance abuse.

The meeting also approved an institutional support workplan focusing on training officers in revenue collection, reducing pending bills and reviewing departmental organisational structures to improve efficiency.

In addition, all county projects will be onboarded onto a projects dashboard developed in collaboration with the World Bank. The platform will enable residents to track project implementation and provide feedback on projects being undertaken across the county.
