GOVERNOR BARASA COMMEMORATES MOTHER’S DAY WITH NEW APOSTOLIC CHURCH FAITHFUL
This morning,H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, OGW., joined faithful of the New Apostolic Church in Itete Community Area, Koyonzo Ward, Matungu Sub-County, for a special Mother’s Day service, where he celebrated and honoured mothers for their role in nurturing families and shaping society.
“Mothers are the foundation of our families and society, nurturing generations with love, sacrifice, and strength. I wish all mothers a happy and blessed Mother’s Day,” said Governor Barasa.
The Governor praised mothers for their dedication and sacrifices in raising families and emphasized his continued support towards improving the welfare of women and children across the County.
During the service, Governor Barasa commended faith-based institutions for promoting unity, moral values, and peaceful coexistence in communities. He further reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening maternal healthcare services to ensure expectant mothers access safe and quality care closer to their homes. He noted that several health facilities across Kakamega County have been equipped with maternity wings to improve services for mothers and children.
The Governor highlighted ongoing development projects in Matungu Sub-County, including the operationalization of Matungu Level 4 Hospital, ongoing road works, expansion of ECDE centres, and construction of Koyonzo Market to support local economic growth.
