GOVERNOR BARASA FLAGS OFF 16,000 LITRE WATER TANKER

The Governor Kakamega County H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa Friday inspected and flagged off a 16,000 litre water bowser purchased by the County Government to supply water to residents. The bowser that will be stationed and operated by the Kakamega County Water and Sanitation Corporation (KACWASCO) will be available for hire by residents as a way of raising revenue for the Government.

The brief event came after the Governor held a meeting with a delegation from USAID led by the Agency’s Western Kenya Water Project Deputy Chief of Party Mr. Calvince Kodero where the County boss thanked the Agency for partnering with Kakamega County to enhance supply of water to the residents saying provision of clean and safe drinking water is among his six point development agenda for Kakamega.

The Governor underscored the milestones made by the County with regards to infrastructure development noting that the focus now shifts to supply of water to residents. He called on partners to support his administration in solarization of boreholes, smart metering, pipeline extension and rehabilitation of Tindinyo water pipeline.

Mr. Kodero on his part stated that the project targets to sustain operations of water services in urban and rural areas in selected counties.
