GOVERNOR BARASA LEADS REVIEW OF DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AND SERVICE DELIVERY.
H.E Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa has urged county officers to embrace accountability, transparency, professionalism and teamwork in the discharge of their duties, noting that good governance remains the foundation for effective service delivery, sustainable development and improved livelihoods for the people of Kakamega County.
The Governor made the remarks while presiding over a service delivery meeting in Kakamega town, bringing together County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers, Directors and Heads of Departments to review the implementation of development projects and government programmes across the county.
The meeting assessed the progress of ongoing projects, identified challenges affecting implementation and agreed on measures to enhance service delivery. Sector heads presented updates on key programmes in healthcare, agriculture, roads, water, education, trade, lands and social services.
Governor Barasa directed all departments to strengthen coordination, enhance project monitoring and ensure timely implementation of programmes so that residents can benefit from government investments without delay. He emphasized prudent use of public resources and called on officers to remain focused on delivering results for wananchi.
The Governor said his administration remains focused on implementing the Six-Point Development Agenda through continued investments in healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, water, education, trade and social services. He noted that every department has a responsibility to ensure residents benefit from programmes aimed at improving livelihoods, creating economic opportunities and expanding access to essential services across Kakamega County.
