GOVERNOR BARASA SHELTER’S JUMA’S WIDOW

The Governor of Kakamega County H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa Saturday presented an early Christmas to the slain Kenya’s football fanatic Isaac Juma’s widow mama Farida Juma and her children.

The late Juma, who was a resident of Ebuyenjere village in Mumias West Sub-County was killed by unknown people at night in January this year while responding to what was believed to be a theft attempt at his home.

The Governor, having purchased land in Mumias East and constructed a house under the auspices of the “Barasa Foundation” for the late Juma’s family, today he officially handed the property together with foodstuffs and other house material to the widow mama Farida Juma and her children.

Earlier in the day, the Governor graced the homecoming ceremony of Mahiakalo Ward MCA, Hon. Modesta Auka at ASK Showground in Lurambi Sub-county.

Hon. Modesta is one of the 3 elected women MCAs out of 60 in the Kakamega County Assembly. Her election is a win for not only the people of Mahiakalo but also to the quest for meaningful participation of women in political leadership and decision-making.

The Governor seized the two opportunities and thanked the President for commissioning the Kakamega Airstrip which he said will help the County to develop socially and economically.
