GOVERNOR OPARANYA CAUTIONS CONTRACTORS ON DEADLINES

Contractors given government contracts must adhere to the set government deadlines for completion of the projects._

This was said today by H.E. Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya after commissioning a new Centre of Excellence at Holy Cross Girls’ Secondary school in Sango ward, Likuyani sub county. “People who get opportunities to offer services to the public through these contracts should ensure quality work is done within the shortest time possible so that residents enjoy the fruits of devolution,” the governor said. _It has taken the contractor 5 years to complete the project, launched in 2014 by H.E. the Governor_.

The Governor said similar projects launched at the same time across the county were operational and called for commitment from contractors to ensure speedy completion of county projects. “This facility will serve residents in the entire sub county and county regardless of their tribal affiliations or economic status,” he said. He cautioned leaders engaged in divisive politics that he will not condone retrogressive politics in the county.

The county government pays Kshs. 15,000/- for every student enrolled in county polytechnics and employs instructors according to the number of students per polytechnic.
