ICT & COMMUNICATION EXECUTIVE ACQUAINTED WITH MINISTRY’S OPERATIONS

The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for ICT, Communication and E-government Madam Rachel Atamba was on Thursday taken on a familiarisation tour of County Government facilities with an aim of understanding the services offered by her Ministry towards enhancing service delivery to the residents of Kakamega.

In addition, the CECM wanted to meet the Ministry staff at their workplace and get a clear picture of their working conditions and how they are spread in the county among others.

During the exercise that was conducted by Mr. Samwel Wetungu, the Director for ICT and E-government, she toured the data center room which is currently the CCTV system control room for the whole County and other ICT facilities at Kotecha, Sahajanand, KCIDA buildings and the County Headquarters.

As enabler Departments, ICT and Communication offer critical timely services to all the County Government Departments and County Agencies to ensure uninterrupted services for the benefit of the residents.

According to Mr. Wetungu, the tour was also important in making the CECM understand the gaps in ICT E-government and Communication service provision, the infrastructure and services offered.

It will be extended to other Government offices in due course; including Health facilities and Sub-County offices.
