KAKAMEGA COMMENCES DEVELOPMENT OF 2027/28 DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The County Government of Kakamega has begun preparing for the 2027/2028 County Annual Development Plan (C-ADP) alongside the Mid-term review of the 2023–2027 County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP).

County Secretary and Head of Public Service Dr Lawrence Omuhaka opened the forum and reminded stakeholders to assess the implementation status of projects initially earmarked under the CIDP and urgently identify gaps requiring attention.

Finance, Economic Planning, ICT, e-Government and Communication CECM Mr Benjamin Andama said the process will ensure development priorities are aligned with available resources and the needs of Kakamega residents; in line with the Constitution and the Public Finance Management Act.

The CADP will guide the County’s programmes and budgeting for the next financial year, with key focus areas including service delivery, revenue mobilization, infrastructure, agriculture, health, education and social protection.

Stakeholders also reviewed and sought to integrate public priorities into the County’s development agenda, including projects valued at KSh15.3 billion under the 2023–2027 CIDP.
