KAKAMEGA COUNTY TO MAINSTREAM CLIMATE CHANGE IN COUNTY INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The County Government of Kakamega today hosted a team from Kenya Metrological Department in Nairobi together with Kakamega office metrological officials, to map out the way forward for mainstreaming climate change issues in the County Integrated Development Plan 2018-2022.

The Kenya Metrological Department led by Mr. Ayub Sakwa will do a capacity building of the countyโ€™s planning and technical team until 2018 on modalities of mainstreaming CIDP issues into the plans. Others from KMD were Mr.James Abuti and Vincent Sakwa, the County Director of Metrological Services.

The County team included County Executive Committee Members Robert Sumbi and Kulati Wangia, together with the County Secretary, Dr. Beatrice Sabana, Ag. Head of Economic, planning and investments, Mr. Jacob Mumia; Zablon Ashilenje of Environment and Antony Munanga of Natural Resources. Other members were from ministry of Water, Environment and Natural Resources, economists and agriculturalists.
