KAKAMEGA EXECUTIVES HANDOVER EXERCISE CONCLUDED

The handing over program by Kakamega County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) ended on Monday afternoon with a final presentation from Mrs Rachel Okumu who passed over the Health Services docket to Dr. Collins Kizito Matemba at a function presided over by the Deputy Governor H.E. Prof Philip Museve Kutima in his boardroom at the County headquarters.

“I am glad that most of you have quickly adjusted to your new stations and now embarking on delivering essential services to our people,” Prof Kutima said.

The County’s second in command reiterated the need for capacity building among staff through regular trainings and structured promotions. He directed CECMs to ensure government workers are motivated. “This will definitely trickle down to the residents through quality service delivery,” added the DG.

Outgoing Roads, Public Works and Energy CECM Dr. Matemba ushered CPA Geoffrey Omulayi to the transport sector as Mr Alfred Ouya Matianyi handed over mandate in the ministry of Lands, Housing, Urban Areas and Physical Planning to Hon. Robert Kundu Makhanu.

Prof. Kutima now has ample time to assist in actualizing Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya’s manifesto for the people of Kakamega County.

The event was witnessed by County Secretary and Head of Public Service madam Jacinta Aluoch Odhiambo and Chief Officer Service Delivery Dr Phitalis Masakwe.

In attendance also were Chief Officers; Dr Kelly Nelima of Livestock, Jeremiah Namunyu of Agriculture, his Medical Services counterpart Dr Beatrice Etemesi, Dr Brenda Makokha of Health Projects and Mr Patrick Lukoko of Lands among other senior government officers.
