KAKAMEGA TEAM SET FOR EAST AFRICA SHOWDOWN
Kakamega County participants to this year’s East Africa Local Authorities Sports and Cultural Association (EALASCA) Festival have safely arrived in Mombasa, setting the stage for an exciting and competitive sporting showdown across various disciplines.
The formidable women’s tug of war team has already sent early warning signals to their rivals, drawing attention with their commanding physiques and confident presence in the coastal city.
On Wednesday, the Kakamega ambassadors are expected to fly the national flag in a wide range of events, including football, tug of war, athletics, volleyball, darts, pool, ajua, golf and traditional dances.
Kenya’s long-time rivals, Uganda, have also fielded a strong contingent, promising stiff competition throughout the festival.
County Secretary and Head of Public Service Dr. Lawrence Omuhaka, conveyed Governor Fernandes Barasa’s goodwill message to the athletes earlier today at Mbaraki Sports Club, urging them to represent the county and the country with pride and determination.
