KAKAMEGA TUGGERS ON THE PROWL AS KICOSCA GAMES ENTER HOMESTRETCH

Kakamega County Tug of War ladies on Thursday kept their hopes of reclaiming the title they relinquished to Kisii last year alive with massive double 3-0 victories in the round of sixteen and quarter finals against Laikipia and Vihiga Counties respectively to advance to the semifinals of the Kenya Inter-County Sports Association competitions in Meru County.

The fiery ladies will however have to deal with opposition from Kisumu County in the semi finals a duel that has been tipped by tug of war pundits as too tight to call.

Despite staging a ferocious comeback in the second half, Kakamega County football team dropped their title defence after a 1-0 loss to Nairobi County in the knockout stage. Nairobi now head to the quarter finals as favourites having dethroned the defending champions.

The Ajua semifinal encounter between Kakamega and Nairobi County that started today, Thursday, will be continued tomorrow while the scintillating Kakamega County folk dance finished in the second runners up position.

Famed for its vast potential in athletics, track events, Kakamega County team will be looking forward to taking back home some silverware in the discipline which officially begun today at Kinoru Stadium.
