LEADERS URGED TO EMBRACE RESPONSIBLE POLITICS AND PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE.
H.E. Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, has called on political leaders to exercise restraint in their public utterances, condemning the recent remarks by the Kakamega County Women Representative over the death of Kakamega County Polytechnic, which he described as inflammatory and reckless. The Governor emphasized the need for political maturity, noting that responsible leadership is essential in fostering unity and stability within communities.
Speaking this afternoon during the funeral service of the late Mama Machuma Makokha in Ngairwe Community, Koyonzo Ward, Matungu Sub-County, Governor Barasa eulogized Mama Machuma, who was mother to the Matungu Sub-County Clerk, Mr. Gerald Maloba, as a selfless mentor, a woman of great wisdom and valor whose legacy will continue to inspire the community. He conveyed his sincere condolences to her family, friends, and the entire Ngairwe community.
Governor Barasa also highlighted the ongoing political cooperation between the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), noting that the partnership is geared towards fostering national unity and development. He expressed confidence that the collaboration will shape the formation of the next government and deliver significant benefits to the people of Kenya.
The Governor was accompanied by Members of the County Assembly, led by Kholera Ward MCA Hon. Tingili Osama, and officials of the County Executive.
