MATUNGU ULTRA-MODERN MARKET SET TO TRANSFORM LOCAL TRADE.

The County Government of Kakamega, in partnership with the National Government, has initiated the Matungu Ultra-Modern Market, a project expected to revolutionize trade in the area. The market will provide modern infrastructure, empower small-scale traders, improve market organization, and stimulate local economic growth.

The County Government facilitated the procurement of the land, while the National Government, under the Area MP Hon. Peter Nabulindo, will oversee construction through to completion. H.E. Governor FCPA Dr. Fernandes Barasa is scheduled to officially launch the project next week, marking the start of construction.

Chief Officer for Trade, Ms. Faith Gitira, today presided over the site handover ceremony, emphasizing that the project aligns with Governor Barasa’s commitment to job creation and community upliftment.

Also in attendance were Area MP Hon. Peter Nabulindo, Chief Officer for Tourism, Mr. Saxon Kweyu, and other distinguished dignitaries.
