NATIONAL TEAMS SELECTORS TO GRACE GOVERNOR’S CUP TOURNEY

The County Government of Kakamega, through the Organizers of the 2023 edition of Kakamega Governor’s Cup will invite National Teams selectors and Scouts from the local Clubs to watch the County Bonanza matches.

While speaking at Khaimba Primary School grounds on Sunday during the Mumias East Sub-County Governor’s Cup Ward Finals, Kakamega Deputy Governor H.E Ayub Savula said the scouts will be invited at the County level to spot talents with an aim of exposing the athletes externally.

The DG hinted at the possibility of reaching out to some of the top Kenya Premier League football clubs officials to keep a keen eye on the players saying the County has immense sports talents that require exploitation and exposure.

The DGs sentiments were echoed by the CECM for Social Services, Sports, Youth, Gender and Culture Mr Mophat Mandela who added that Volleyball, Netball and Football Ladies will commence at the Sub-County level while Rugby Sevens will be staged a the County Bonanza.

The Sub-County will be represented by Lubinu Rangers (Lubinu Lusheya Ward), Mung’ang’a FC (East Wanga Ward) and Isongo FC (Malaha Isongo Ward).
