PROJECTS IMPLEMENTATION IN SHARP FOCUS AS COUNTY SERVICE DELIVERY REPORT MEETINGS RESUMES

Senior County Government of Kakamega Officers have been directed to ensure Government projects are implemented on time in line with H.E the Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa’s development agenda.

The directive was issued by the the County Secretary and Head of Public Service Dr. Lawrence Omuhaka Tuesday during the initial Service Delivery meeting for the Financial Year 2024/25 which he Chaired on behalf of the Governor at Golf hotel, Kakamega.

Dr. Omuhaka also tasked the Executives to clearly outline among others; the status of all pending bills as well as the total revenue collected vis a vis the projected targets.

“As this financial year begins, we have to increase ya absorption rates for both development and recurrent expenditures to be able to meet the set targets as outlined in H.E the Governor’s manifesto,” the CS noted.

The monthly Service Delivery Report meetings is an initiative of the County boss to monitor Government programmes and projects across the County so as to enhance service delivery to residents.

CECM for Finance, Planning, ICT, E-government and Communication CPA Livingstone Imbayi on his part called on County Executives to work closely with the County Audit Unit in reviewing all pending bills before effecting payments.

“We will be hosting the 1st Kakamega International Investment Conference from March 19, 2024; let us prepare and showcase what our respective ministries are doing,” he advised.

Chief Officer for Service Delivery Dr. Phitalis Masakhwe called on his counterparts to work with the Service Delivery and Advisory Unit to hasten the process of projects implementation in their respective dockets.

Also in attendance were CECMs, Deputy County Secretary Mr Joshua Kutekha, County Attorney CS. Vivian Mmbaka, County Public Service Board CEO Ms. Catherine Otenyo, Municipal Managers, Directors, and other senior Government Officers.
