The project adds to a growing network of road infrastructure projects being implemented across Kakamega County, including the Lumakanda–Manyonyi Road in Lugari, Mahiakalo–Nyayo Tea Zone – Shikulu Market and Shivakala – Amalemba Roads in Lurambi, Harambee – Musamba – Malaha Roads in Matungu and Mumias East respectively, as well as the planned upgrade of Kambi ya Mwanza – Kambiri – Chirovani – Rondo road in Shinyalu, Ingotse – Navakholo – Chebuyusi Road in Navakholo, Kilingili – Ekonjero – Emako Road in Khwisero, and Spencon – River Nzoia Road in Likuyani, among others.

The ongoing investments are providing a reprieve to residents by easing movement, improving access to markets and essential services, strengthening the transportation of agricultural produce and industrial raw materials and products, and supporting broader social and economic opportunities across the county.

Through Governor Barasa’s infrastructure agenda, roads are being upgraded to open up communities, strengthen local trade and create better opportunities for the people of Kakamega.
