“Any team that qualifies for the finals is assured of my presence and support during their final match; be our good ambassadors and return home with the trophies,” the Governor said, reminding the organizers to ensure all the participants are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 virus before the competitions begin.

Deputy Governor Prof. Philip Museve Kutima observed that Kakamega County is well known for her sporting prowess and reminded the sportsmen and women that the rest of the teams were training to defeat Kakamega.

Kakamega County is the reigning football men champions and the County will be represented in Football men and women, Tug of War men and women, Netball women, Athletics, Choir and Cultural Dance and Volleyball men and women disciplines.

County Executive Committee Member for Social Services, Sports, Youth, Women Empowerment and Culture Mr. Kassim Were exuded confidence that the team will bring back home several trophies at the end of the competitions.
