SHIATSALA MODERN MARKET RECORDS POSITIVE PROGRESS FOLLOWING RESUMPTION OF CONSTRUCTION WORKS

Construction of the Shiatsala Modern Market in Butere Sub-County has recorded significant progress following the resumption of works, in line with Governor Fernandes Barasa’s directive to fast-track the completion of stalled development projects across the county.

Speaking during a site inspection, Chief Officer for Public Works Mr. Pascal Were noted that the ongoing completion works are aimed at providing a modern, safe and conducive trading environment that will improve the working conditions of traders at Shiatsala Market while boosting local economic activities.

Current works at the site include roofing of the market, construction of a hotel, construction of an ablution block, construction of market offices, and fencing of the market.

Present during the inspection visit was County Structural Engineer Eng. Jared Salano.
