SHIATSALA ULTRA-MODERN MARKET NEARS COMPLETION

Construction of the Shiatsala Ultra-Modern Market in Butere Sub-County is over 80% complete, bringing Governor FCPA Dr. Fernandes Barasa’s commitment to improving trading infrastructure and expanding economic opportunities for local traders closer to reality.

The market, whose construction had previously stalled under the previous administration, is now in its final stages. Once complete, it will accommodate more than 160 traders and features modern amenities, including an ablution block, a restaurant and a kitchen.

The project will provide traders with a safe, secure and dignified business environment by relocating them from roadside stalls into a modern market designed to support efficient and organized trade.

The Shiatsala Ultra-Modern Market is part of the County Government’s broader agenda to modernize market infrastructure, empower small-scale traders and stimulate local economic growth across Kakamega County.
