SMOOTH TAKE OFF FOR KAKAMEGA DAIRY PLANT

As Kakamega awaits the operationalization of yet another industry in the County, construction works of Kakamega Dairy Plant at Tumbeni, Malava sub county are currently underway.

According to the CECM for Trade, Tourism and Industrialization Mr. Kassim Were, the agreed completion timelines of the plant with the contractor and eventual handing over to the County Government is after 50-52 weeks from the date the construction works commenced.

In addition to the Milk plant, the County Goverment has also prioritized construction of a tea factory in Shinyalu, a Maize milling plant in Lugari as well as establishment of an Industrial Park at Matungu/Mumias West sub counties.
