STEADY PROGRESS AT LIKUYANI INDUSTRIAL PARK
The County Government of Kakamega, under the leadership of H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa,FCPA, continues to make steady strides in advancing the Industrialization and Wealth Creation pillar of his development agenda, with notable progress recorded at the Likuyani Industrial Park.
During an inspection visit to the site, County officials observed significant advancement in construction works since the last assessment. Key milestones include the erection of structural components and substantial progress on water infrastructure. Foundation works for both high- and low-level water tanks are ongoing, with the lower tank already prepared for casting.
Additional works, including ablution facilities, civil works, and construction of the main gate, are also underway, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investment, job creation, and economic growth.
Chief Officer for Trade, Ms. Faith Gitira, alongside her counterpart Mr. Saxon Kweyu, emphasized the need for the contractor to accelerate timelines to ensure timely delivery of the project, in line with the Governor’s vision, while upholding quality standards.
A team from the State Department of Industrialization, led by Director Gilbert Maeri, also visited the site to assess progress. The team commended the visible improvements since their previous inspection and encouraged sustained oversight to guarantee quality workmanship and value for money.
Also present during the visit was Mr. Shadrack Kiprotich, Auditor from the State Department of Industrialization.
