TRIUMPHANT KAKAMEGA TEAM BACK IN THE COUNTY

It was jubilation, pomp and colour as the victorious Kakamega County representatives in the just concluded Kenya National Music & Cultural Festivals arrived in Kakamega town Wednesday morning to a warm reception by spectators among them government officers led by the CECM for Social Services, Youths, Sports and Culture Hon. Robert Makhanu. In his welcoming remarks, the CECM congratulated the victors once again for the wonderful display in Siaya county that saw them bag over 38 trophies in various entries. “I commend you for the high levels of discipline and commitment you displayed out there that has made Kakamega the reference subject by other counties,” he said.

In addition to the other performances showcased by the county in previous years, the county choir, which performed beyond expectations, was a new inclusion in this year’s festivals for Kakamega County. The county assembly choir also performed exceptionally well in their inaugural year at the competitions.

Also present were; MCA Hon. Scholarstica Ngina, director of culture Gaudencia Otipa and the County Youths Service & Mainstreaming advisor Mophat Mandela.
