VULNERABLE CITIZENS RECEIVE GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

Chief Officer for Social Services, Youth, Women Empowerment, Sports and Culture CPA John Imbogo Thursday morning gave a Government donation of mattresses and blankets to vulnerable residents of Navakholo and Matungu Sub-Counties.

The donation is part of the humanitarian aid the County Government has been carrying out across the County in support of the less privileged citizens namely; the elderly, the impoverished and flood victims among others.

Mr. Imbogo encouraged residents to adhere to all the COVID-19 rules and regulations as stipulated by the Ministry of Health terming regular handwashing and social distancing as the most certain measures of preventing contraction of the disease.

“H.E Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya thought it better to remember the less priviledged members of our society, a clear manifestation of his sound leadership and empathetic nature; please return the favor by observing Covid-19 guidelines to the latter,” he said.

Each of the beneficiaries recieved one matress and two blankets.

Mr. Paul Nyongesa a beneficiary from Navakholo Sub-County appreciated the gesture and added that Governor Oparanya is an exemplary leader who cares about the needs of the local residents.

The event was attended by the Ministry’s Deputy Director of Administration Mr. Cyril Mululu, Navakholo Sub-County Administrator Mr. Wilson Sifuna Yaola and his Matungu counterpart Madam Diana Kisaka. Also in attendance were Khalaba Ward Administrator Madam Everline Wanda as well as staff from the Social Services Department led by Miss Yvonne Atsenga among other Government officers.
