WELCOME TO KAKAMEGA’S ‘JANUARY’ COOLING EFFECT VENUE – MULIRO GARDENS

Kakamega County Governor H.E DR. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya recently commissioned the refurbished Masinde Muliro Recreation park in Kakamega town opening the gates to cheerful and contented residents who thronged the facility to enjoy the aura of the historic gardens.

The gardens that consist of neat pavements and well positioned seating areas present a perfect scenery for town visitors who need relaxation space away from their daily hustles and bustles to re-energize and positively plan on their programs and activities.

The County Executive for Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Areas Hon. Robert Makhanu welcomed Kakamega town dwellers and visitors to the facility, after the reopening, and appealed to them to keep the environment clean by making use of the available litre bins.

According to the Director of ICT and e-Government Mr. Samwel Wetungu, the County is in the process of implementing installation of Wi-fi stations at the park and other public relaxing places across the county. This, he says, will give tech-savvy residents of Kakamega an opportunity to access Government services online using the free internet. Select bus parks in the Southern, Northern and Central regions will also be considered for installation of the wireless internet.

The Kakamega’s CBD located Muliro Gardens now hosts residents and visitors who continue to praise the workmanship as they enjoy the natural beauty and ambiance of the park.
