Today’s development tour of Mumias East Sub-County concluded at Khaunga grounds in East Wanga Ward, where key concerns for Kakamega County residents were addressed.

Governor Barasa, in his speech, noted that his administration has focused on Food Security through the subsidized farm inputs program, electricity plan where he announced that he has secured a Ksh. 200 million deal from the National Government to enhance energy infrastructure in both villages and urban areas, among others.

These achievements, he said, will help improve the life of the residents by spurring the county’s economic growth.

This collaboration will also ensure the revival of Mumias Sugar Company, complete Bukhungu International Stadium and Kakamega Level-6 Hospital, all costing close to Ksh. 8 Billion.

The Governor concluded his address by thanking the President, H.E Dr. William Ruto, for allocating 200 acres of Shikusa prison land for the relocation and upgrade of Kakamega Airstrip to a fully fledged Airport, the first of its kind in Kakamega County.
