H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa concluded the day’s activities in Manda Shivanga Ward, with the launch of Manyonje Bridge – Cheptuli Primary – Kharakha Junction Road.

This road will enhance transportation of labour and raw materials (Sugarcane) to nearby Butali Sugar factory.

The cream of the activities was a public meeting at Cheptuli where the elevation of Malava Township to a Municipality promising significant opportunities to the residents was prominently lauded by speakers. This achievement aligns perfectly with Governor Barasa’s Wealth Creation and Infrastructure Development agenda for the people of Kakamega County.

The gathering also discussed the upcoming distribution of fish feeds to various farmers which will be an accompaniment of the massive programme of the subsidized fertilizer and maize seeds starting next week aimed at actualizing the #FoodSecurity pillar.

Also on queue is the countywide launch of the bursaries where Malava Sub-County has been allocated Ksh. 28 million to facilitate the most underprivileged and academically promising learners.

In today’s launch of the 10KM roads per Ward projects, Malava Sub-County has reaped infrastructural development worth KSh 70 Million.

Present were MCAs led by the 7 host representatives, County Officials including CECMs, COS, COs, Advisors and both the National and County administration officers.
