PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE COUNTY AND NATIONAL GOVERNMENTS’ ON TOURISM

Kakamega County Association of Hoteliers Chairperson Rev. William Owuya who is also the Secretary of the County Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF) on Friday paid a courtesy call on the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism Hon. Pennina Malonza in her office in Nairobi and discussed the following:

Supporting Kakamega County in developing and conserving tourism attractions.

Consider investing in a modern Conference centre in Kakamega

Reducing the number of taxes and levies on businesses in the hotel industry.

Supporting the County in Marketing tourism products.

Supporting the development of air and road transport to destination Kakamega.

National Government giving more business to hotels instead of denying them an opportunity to host Government trainings and conferences

Collaborating with the County in training staff in the tourism industry.
