GOVERNOR BARASA ENGAGES COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS TO STRENGTHEN SERVICE DELIVERY

H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, OGW, this morning held an engagement meeting with Sub-County Administrators, Ward Administrators, and Community Area Administrators at his Harambee Residence in a bid to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery across Kakamega County.

Addressing the administrators, the Governor emphasized their critical role as the link between the County Government and residents, directing them to take an active role in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects to ensure government programmes are delivered efficiently and achieve the intended impact at the grassroots.

Governor Barasa assured the administrators that, like all County Government staff, their welfare remains a priority, noting that his administration is finalizing their Scheme of Service to facilitate its implementation, with key emphasis on career progression and promotions. He further said Kakamega County is among the counties implementing the new Human Resource Management System (HRMS), which is expected to improve efficiency in human resource management. He also emphasized the need for continuous capacity building, professionalism, and teamwork to enhance public service delivery.

The Governor announced that the County Government will soon roll out the Routine Road Improvement through the Rapid Response Initiative (RRI) in all 60 wards to improve the county road network and enhance connectivity across the county.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to completing all stalled projects inherited from the previous administration, saying the County Government also remains focused on ensuring ongoing ward development projects are commissioned for the benefit of the people of Kakamega County.

Also present were the First Lady, Prof. Janet Kassilly Barasa; PSA CECM Dr. Bonface Okoth; Chief Officers Daniel Sumba and Prisca Otipa; and Director of County Administration, Wilson Yaola.
