RETIRED CHIEFS PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR BARASA’S DEVELOPMENT AGENDA AS THEY CALL FOR RECOGNITION IN COUNTY PROJECTS

H.E. Governor FCPA Dr. Fernandes Barasa today held a consultative meeting with retired chiefs and assistant chiefs from across Kakamega County, led by their association chairperson Hannington Okwomi, as they discussed their role in supporting development and strengthening community engagement.

The retired administrators appreciated the County Government’s ongoing development initiatives and pledged to continue championing projects and programmes that are transforming lives across the county.

They called for greater recognition of their contribution in supporting the implementation of development projects, noting that their experience and networks at the grassroots remain valuable in mobilising communities and promoting government initiatives.

The former chiefs and assistant chiefs also raised matters affecting their welfare, and called for continued collaboration with the county leadership.

Governor Barasa acknowledged the important role played by retired administrators in maintaining peace, promoting unity and supporting development efforts within communities.

He noted that their wealth of experience as grassroots leaders remains crucial in advancing the county’s development agenda and ensuring that government programmes reach the people.
