GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES CHALLENGED ON EFFICIENCY

H.E Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya has called on county government staff to observe work ethics, maintain high levels of integrity, and ensure a good working relationship between their colleagues, their seniors and members of the public.

The Governor who was speaking during an address to all Sub County and Ward administrators and the county enforcement officers at the county headquarters, reiterated the need for the officersΒ to understand and comply with the constitution and the county laws and legislations for proper discharge of their mandate to the citizens.

Governor Oparanya maintained that county governments are key in determining the future of the citizenry through devolution and any form of challenge posed to that objective through corruption, laxity at work or misuse of government time for own benefits will be seriously be dealt with. He said as employees of the county, they must ensure that service delivery to the citizens is on the forefront.

H.E Governor Oparanya hinted of soon restructuring the enforcement unit for better service delivery to the people. The unit is charged with enforcing county laws and ensuring efficient revenue collection in the county. The Governor challenged the officers to work towards delivering on the pledges he made to the electorate.

Present as well was the Deputy Governor H.E Prof. Philip Museve Kutima, County Secretary Dr. Beatrice Sabana, Chairperson County Public Service Board Rodah Masaviru and Public Servive and Administration CECM Rachel Okumu.

Later in the day H.E the Governor visited the home of Mary Muhatia, at Lirhanda Shinyalu sub county. Mama Mary is a dairy farmer supplying over 300 litres of milk daily to the community. The Governor commended her for the eye opening project and encouraged her to maintain it as the county readies to its first Dairy factory in Malava sub County. He promised to empower more residents who wish to venture into dairy farming through proper policies as spelt out in his manifesto.
