FIRST LADY VISITS SCHOOLS IN EFFORTS TO SUPPORT EDUCATION FOR GIRL CHILD

Kakamega County First Lady, H.E. Priscillah Oparanya with the support of Lapfund and Red Cross is moving around the County, in selected two schools per constituency, issuing sanitary towels and panties to 30 needy girls in each of these schools.

The girls receive a pack of sanitary towels that will last them six months up to the exam time.
In all the schools she has encouraged parents to team up with teachers to ensure that girls excel in their exams and also urged parents to ensure that the girls proceed to college after form four and to desist from early marriages and teenage pregnancies.

So far Mama County has covered the following schools:
Musoma primary in Mumias East, Lusumu primary and Emulama primary in Navakholo,H Emukaba primary and Chief Mutsembi primary in Lurambi, Shitochi primary and Shipalo primary in Shinyalu.

Today she will be in the following schools:
Bukaya, Mulwanda and Emulore in Khwisero subcounty, Eshirembe and Emusuguri in Butere subcounty, Lwandeti and Musali primary in Malava subcounty.

Mrs. Oparanya is Accompanied by madam peninah Mukabane the advisor gender and special programmes, representatives from Lapfund and Red Cross Mr. George Ochieng and Ms. Euphrasia Musundi respectively, Mr. Zablon Onyango from public health department and the area Administrators.
