“A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT MY NEXT AGENDA FOR KAKAMEGA COUNTY” ~ _GOVERNOR OPARANYA
H.E. Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya has today announced that his next big project after laying a platform for the cashless revenue collection system will be overseeing a clean environment across the County. The cashless system which had in its initial roll out stages faced many challenges has now steadily picked momentum and is witnessing over 110% improvement in revenue collection across the board.
The governor said with the current revenue collection projections signalling an upward trajectory across all the 12 sub counties, after tasking the role to County Executives and Administrators, focus now shifts to provision of services to the residents. “The only way to appreciate the tax payers is to provide better services to them in a timely and fashionable manner so that they feel and see the value for the money they remit to the government as tax,” he said.
He made the remarks today during the County’s weekly revenue collection review meetings with County Executive Committee Members, chief officers and Sub County Administrators at Kakamega Golf Hotel.

He directed all sub county administrators to ensure all markets within their areas of jurisdiction are cleaned by officers working under the County Youths and Women Empowerment programme under the supervision of the Ward and Community Administrators.
