SERVICE DELIVERY UNIT INSPECTS PROJECTS IN KAKAMEGA

Officers from the Kakamega County Service Delivery and Advisory Unit Tuesday toured Marama West Ward in Butere Sub-County to inspect the status of County projects and the general impact of Government service delivery to the people.

The team visited Inaya water plant, Imanyika Primary School ECDE Center, Emaira and Shisaba Community Dispensary.

In-charge Chief Officer Dr. Phitalis Masakhwe said Kakamega Governor H.E Dr. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya is keen on ensuring proper completion of all the key flagship projects before the end of his tenure. Dr. Masakhwe noted that execution of the already initiated projects is top on the priority lists of his Unit.

“It is the obligation of the Service Delivery and Advisory Unit to make sure all the projects are completed in accordance with the agreed timelines. The residents of this great County of Kakamega appreciate the milestones so far achieved by Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya’s administration ranging from roads and buildings infrastructure, water, subsidized farm inputs, youths and women empowerment, among others,” he said.

According to the Deputy Director Administration at the Unit Dr. Jairo Omulako, the inspection exercise is important as it identifies gaps and challenges experienced in service delivery as well as finding corresponding solutions.

Earlier on in Likuyani Sub-Ccounty, the Dr. Masakhwe led team inspected Lumakanda – Mwamba road, Matete stock ring, Musembe Dam water project, the on going construction of Sub-County offices, Kongoni Primary School ECDE block and the Lumino dam.

Dr. Omulako advised County Administrators, who were in attendance, to monitor Government projects closely and provide timely reports so as to improve Government service delivery efficiency.
