CONSTRUCTION OF HARAMBEE – KHAUNGA ROAD COMMENCES

The County Government of Kakamega has commenced construction of Harambee-Musamba-Khaunga bridge road.

Speaking at Musamba market after commissioning upgrade of the road to bitumen standards, Kakamega Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa said works on the 12.5 kilometres road will be completed within two years and instructed contractors to fastrack the process to ensure the agreed timelines are adhered to.

In line with his six development pillars for the people of Kakamega County, Governor Barasa announced that his administration will in this first term construct a tarmac road in each of the 60 wards to enhance connectivity and spur economic growth; contractors were also directed by the Governor to empower locals during the construction.

The County boss used the opportunity to implore parents to instill good morals into their children to make them responsible and respectful citizens; he said this in reference to the alleged arson at Kivaywa Secondary School in Malava Sub-County where a dormitory block was razed down by fire suspected to have been ignited by students. He condemned the act and called for speedy investigations into the incident.
