COUNTY ELECTRONIC PROJECT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USER TRAINING KICKS OFF

Kakamega County Government officers from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and ICT; Department of ICT and Planning are undergoing a five day intensive training on Electronic County Integrated system (E-CIPMS) at Golf Hotel Kakamega. E-CIPMS is a system being developed by the County Goverment to monitor and evaluate county projects in all the twelve Sub-Counties.

According to Chief Officer Service Delivery and Advisory Unit Dr. Phitalis Masakhwe, the objective of the training is to equip the officers with skills to operate the system with the aim of improving service delivery.

“We are taking advantage of technology as a County to carry out our duties, this system will help track projects undertaken by different ministries and their status in real time. The system also provides a platform for feedback thus giving the government a chance to tackle any setbacks emerging during project implementation,” he said.

ICT director who is also the head of the technical support team Mr. Samuel Wetungu said the training  will take place in three phases; User, Management, and Technical training.

Mr. Wyclife Owuor a representative from Kingsway Business Systems LTD, the system developers, said the firm has been working on the project for two and a half months and is undertaking the stakeholder training to improve system performance and the general service delivery.

“E-CIPMS will provide an opportunity for timely interventions. This workshop is to enable us get more insight from the user so as to create the best system for Kakamega County,” he explained.

Director for Planning Mr. Dan Borter was present, among other Government officers.
