SPORTS CECM HOSTS AFC LEOPARDS DELEGATION

The County Executive for Social Services, Youths, Women Empowerment, Sports and Culture Mr. Kassim Were hosted the Football Kenya Federation Premier League giants AFC Leopards officials led by the club Chairman Dr. Dan Shikanda at his office on Monday at Bukhungu Stadium where he hinted at plans to partner with the East and Central African soccer giants in talent acquisition and nurturing in Western region.

The two also discussed ways of leveraging on the huge fanatical support the club enjoys to market and brand the iconic Bukhungu Stadium among other sports facilities in Kakamega County.

Ingwe, as fondly referred by the club faithfuls currently lie third on the FKF Premier League log with 25 points, 7 behind the leaders Tusker FC, with two games in hand. The team secured its 8th win of the season after beating Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 in an entertaining match played at Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday.

The County Sports Director Mr. James Muchiri and AFC club treasurer Mr. Maurice Chichi were in attendance.
