COUNTY, KBC PARTNERSHIP DELIVERS HOPE AND DIGNITY TO LEARNERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN KAKAMEGA
There were smiles, songs of gratitude, and emotional moments as learners at Malava Special Unit in Malava Comprehensive School and Emusala Comprehensive School in Lurambi Sub-county received a donation of essential items from the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) in collaboration with the County Government of Kakamega.
The exercise was led by CECM for Sports and Social Services CPA Jackline Masicha together with a KBC delegation headed by Jackline Aseka, Manager for Branding, in a gesture aimed at supporting children with special needs and improving their welfare. The learners received blankets, uji flour, beans, sanitary towels, and other basic necessities to help meet their everyday needs.
Speaking during the visit, CPA Jackline Masicha thanked KBC for partnering with the County Government to support some of the most vulnerable learners, saying every child deserves to learn in dignity regardless of their circumstances or abilities. She noted that such collaborations bring hope to families, strengthen inclusive education, and demonstrate the power of institutions working together to improve lives.
On behalf of KBC, Ms. Rebecca Cherotich, Head of Radio Taifa, said the national broadcaster remains committed to giving back to communities through meaningful corporate social responsibility initiatives. She noted that the donation was a demonstration of KBC’s belief that every child deserves equal opportunities and care, adding that the corporation will continue partnering with stakeholders to uplift vulnerable groups and make a positive impact across the country.
Also present during the donation exercise was Ms. Lucy Chogo, alongside other senior officials.
