GOVERNOR BARASA JOINS PRESIDENT RUTO FOR CONSECRATION AND ENTHRONEMENT OF FOURTH BISHOP OF ACK KATAKWA DIOCESE.

H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa today joined H.E. President Dr. William Ruto and other national and regional leaders at the Amagoro Comprehensive School Grounds in Busia County for the Consecration and Enthronement of the Venerable Dr. Vitalis Ekuru as the Fourth Bishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK), Katakwa Diocese.

The solemn ceremony was presided over by the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya, Most Rev. Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit, and attended by Uganda’s Vice President, H.E. Maj. (Rtd.) Jessica Alupo, Prime Cabinet Secretary H.E. Musalia Mudavadi, Busia Governor H.E. Dr. Paul Otuoma, Bungoma Governor H.E. Kenneth Lusaka, alongside other leaders, clergy, and faithful from across the region.

Speaking during the occasion, Governor Barasa congratulated Bishop Vitalis Ekuru on his consecration and wished him God’s wisdom, grace, and strength as he begins his episcopal ministry.

The Governor expressed confidence that Bishop Ekuru’s leadership will be guided by unity, compassion, and steadfast service to Christ and humanity as he shepherds the faithful of the Katakwa Diocese.

Governor Barasa also stated that leaders and residents of Western Kenya remain committed to supporting the Broad-Based Government’s development agenda, noting that continued collaboration between national and county governments remains key to accelerating socio-economic transformation and improving the livelihoods of wananchi.
