COUNTY RECEIVES WATER TANKS FROM ONE ACRE FUND TO ASSIST IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19
Kakamega Deputy Governor H.E Prof. Philip Museve Kutima Thursday afternoon received 40 hand washing tanks from One Acre Fund to boost the County’s efforts in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
The tanks were handed over to him by Ms Lillian Avugwi, the Fund’s Government Relationship officer at the County headquarters, Kakamega.
Prof. Kutima who is also the chairman of the County Covid-19 Resource Mobilization Committee thanked the organization for the donation saying it will help the county in its efforts to combat the spread of the virus.
He said the donations will be distributed to market centers in the 12 sub counties.
“We will ensure all sub counties benefit from this donation. I thank One Acre Fund for their support towards the fight against this pandemic,” said Prof. Kutima.
He added that he was happy with the response from partners and donors following an appeal by the County Covid-19 Emergency Response team on the need for them to join forces in the war against the novel Coronavirus.
He pointed out that next week he will make public the list of all donations the county has received, the donors and how it has been distributed for accountability purposes.
Ms. Avugwi, said the donation is part of their efforts to support the community during this hard times.
