CURTAINS FALL ON THE ASK WESTERN KENYA AGRICULTURAL SHOW – KAKAMEGA CHAPTER 2023

The Western Kenya Branch Show Kakamega ended today , Saturday, after four days of exhibition at the Moi ASK Showground Kakamega, themed; “Promoting climate smart agriculture and trade initiatives for sustainable economic growth”.

The event was presided over by Chief Officer for Livestock Dr. Barack Otieno on behalf of the CECM for Agriculture , Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives Mr Benjamin Andama. In his address, Dr. Otieno said the exhibitors showcased varieties of smart agriculture for sustainable economic growth.

The event brought together an array of exhibitors who showcased sustainable technologies, innovations and practices in the face climate change that has disrupted food production – increased population, increased food demands, poor post-harvest handling practices/technologies and urbanization.

ASK Western Branch Chairperson Dr. Purity Anyanje lauded H.E Governor Fernandes Barasa, the patron of the Kakamega Chapter, for initiating key projects and programmes in the Agriculture sector to address food security as outlined in his Manifesto.

KALRO were crowned champions of the 2023 Chapter while Kenya Prisons bagged the best Livestock exhibitors trophy.
