DEPUTY GOVERNOR IMPRESSED WITH STATE OF MATETE HOSPITAL

Kakamega Deputy Governor H.E Hon. Ayub Savula on Sunday paid an impromptu visit to the Matete Level Four hospital for a status check where he expressed his contentment with the state of affairs at the facility which is well stocked with drugs.

The DG lauded the hospital management for maintaining high standards of hygiene and assured that the Government will speed up ongoing construction of male and female wards at the facility to expand its capability in service delivery to the residents.

Malava Level Four hospital, Hon. Savula added, will be equipped and new facilities constructed, followed by its upgrade to a Level 5 Hospital to ensure enhanced service delivery.

According to Ruth Shitabule who is in-charge of reproductive health services in Lugari Sub-County, Matete Level Four Hospital handles an average of 40 deliveries every month which translates to 480 deliveries per year. In the last 24 hours, the facility handled 11 deliveries.
