GOVERNOR ANYANG’ NYON’GO ELECTED LREB CHAIRPERSON

Kakamega County Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa is among Lake Region Economic Block (LREB) Governor’s who unanimously elected Kisumu Governor H.E. Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o and Bungoma Governor H.E. Kenneth Lusaka as the bloc’s Chairperson and Vice Chairperson respectively during the 10th LREB Summit held in Kisumu.

Immediate former LREB Chairperson H.E. FCPA Dr Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya coordinated the election on Sunday, 20th November, 2022 few hours before the Summit’s dinner that was hosted in his honour.

Delivering his last address, Dr. Oparanya appreciated the bloc’s first members for establishing structures that enabled the counties position both shared and unique strategic areas of investment on the economic front for the benefit of residents.

Professor Anyang’ Nyong’o thanked his colleagues for electing him to steer the Bloc forward and called on the National Government to appreciate and support development efforts being made by regional economic blocs in Kenya. He announced that Migori County will host the next Summit.

Governor Lusaka takes over from his predecessor, former Kisii County Governor H.E. Hon. James Ongwae.

The new LREB officials will serve for one term.
