GOVERNOR BARASA COMMISSIONS MODERN ESHILIBO ECDE CENTRE IN LURAMBI SUB-COUNTY

H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa today commissioned the modern Eshilibo ECDE Centre at Eshilibo Primary School in Butsotso South Ward, Lurambi Sub-County, marking another milestone in the County Government’s investment in the future of Kakamega County through quality Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE).

The modern facility comprises two fully furnished classrooms, a teachers’ office, a kitchen, a water tank, and child-friendly sanitation facilities, providing a safe and conducive learning environment for young learners.

Governor Barasa noted that the investment is already delivering results, with ECDE enrolment at Eshilibo Primary School increasing from 38 to 151 learners since the construction of the centre.

The facility is part of the County Government’s ongoing investment in quality ECDE infrastructure. To date, the County Government has established 62 modern ECDE centres, equitably distributed across Kakamega County, to ensure every child has access to quality early learning and a strong educational foundation.

Governor Barasa said his administration will continue investing in ECDE, noting that giving every child a strong foundation in education is key to improving learning outcomes and securing the future of Kakamega County.

The Governor also highlighted key development projects in Lurambi Sub-County, including the completed Mwiyenga and Ekapwonje Water Projects, the ongoing construction of a Maternity Unit at Bukura Level IV Hospital, bursary support for needy and deserving students, and continued investment in roads and bridges to improve connectivity and stimulate economic growth.

He assured residents that all ongoing and inherited stalled projects will be completed to ensure equitable development across the county.

Also present were MCAs led by Butsotso South MCA Hon. Gildon Shioso, CECM for Education Dr. Bernard Amwayi, CECM for Water Ms. Penina Mukabane,Chief Officers and other education stakeholders.
