Governor Barasa, CS Mvurya Inspect Bukhungu Stadium Project

H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa and Sports CS Salim Mvurya inspected the ongoing construction of Bukhungu Stadium, assessing progress on Phases 2 and 3.

The project is being overseen by a joint technical team from the national and county governments, following President William Ruto’s directives during his visit in January 2025.

Governor Barasa affirmed that the contractor is on track to complete the stadium by June 2026 in preparation for AFCON 2027. The stadium has been designated as one of Kenya’s key venues for the continental tournament.

Also present during the site visit were PS Peter Tum, officials from Sports Kenya, and county executives led by CECM Mophat Mandela.
