GOVERNOR BARASA JOINS CHRISTIAN FAITHFUL FOR P.A.G MOTHERS’ WEEK CELEBRATIONS IN LIKUYANI
H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa today joined Christian faithful at Ivugwi P.A.G Church in Likuyani Ward, Likuyani Sub-County, for a church service and fundraiser marking the culmination of P.A.G Mothers’ Week.
In his address, the Governor called on the church to continue praying for the nation and urged Kenyans to uphold peace, unity and national cohesion as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election.
Governor Barasa also took the opportunity to update residents on key development projects being implemented in Likuyani Sub-County, including modern ECDE centres, road maintenance, the Likuyani Smart Farm, Lumino and Matunda water projects, expansion of the maternity wing at Likuyani Level IV Hospital and the ongoing construction of the Likuyani Industrial Park. He noted that the industrial park is expected to create close to 1,000 jobs upon completion.
The Governor also announced plans to establish a textile industry in Likuyani Sub-County to promote local manufacturing, create employment and boost economic growth. He further announced plans for the construction of the Spencon–Nzoia–Kona Road through Nzoia and Sinoko Wards to improve connectivity and open up economic opportunities.
Governor Barasa highlighted the benefits of the collaboration between the County Government and the National Government, noting that the partnership has accelerated the delivery of key projects across Kakamega County, including the Likuyani Industrial Park, Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega County Level VI Hospital, roads and modern markets.
Also present were Likuyani MP Hon. Innocent Mugabe, MCAs led by Likuyani Ward MCA Hon. Brian Mafunga, and other national and county leaders.
