INVESTING IN THE FUTURE: SAMITSI PRIMARY ECDE CENTRE COMPLETED

H.E Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa continues to advance his quality education for all agenda through strategic investments in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) infrastructure across Kakamega County. The Samitsi Primary ECDE Centre in Shirugu-Mugai Ward, Malava Sub-County, has been completed and is ready for commissioning, marking another milestone in expanding access to quality early learning facilities.

The modern facility features two spacious classrooms, a kitchen, a teachers’ office and child-friendly sanitation facilities, providing a safe, secure and conducive learning environment that will enable young learners to begin their educational journey with confidence.

The project forms part of Governor Barasa’s sustained investment in strengthening ECDE infrastructure across Kakamega County. The County Government has so far established 62 modern ECDE centres comprising 124 classrooms, ensuring more children have access to dignified, safe and learner-friendly environments.

Once commissioned, the Samitsi Primary ECDE Centre will enhance access to quality early childhood education for families in Shirugu-Mugai Ward and further demonstrate the commitment to laying a strong educational foundation for future generations under the Maendeleo na Usawa development agenda.
